Leo asked: Anyone experienced enough to tell me how and what parts i should get if i wanted to upgrade my Tank Urban 50cc scooter. Up to how much extra speed / cc’s would i be able to get in upgrades. Is it possible to get it to do more than the max 45mph which i rarely get?

I’m assuming your using the GY6 engine, believe it or not they are very common engines with alot of upgrades and plenty of restrictions from the factory that you can easily and fairly cheaply increase power.I’ll asume based on your post that your scooter moves around 40 mph, which is average for these babies. The first thing I would do is go over to KNfilters.com and get yourself a nice intake filter for about $22, this will increase fuel milage by nearly double and will increase your top end by 2-5 mph, you can get a 95 jet for the carb for about $13 which will increase it further by 2-6 mph but will reduce your fuel milage by a fraction. You could go to your local Napa store and get a CR7HIX Iridium spark plug from NGK for around $10 which doesn’t increase top eng but does increase accelration and fuel effiency, to further increase the power of the plug you can get a high output sparkplug coil for around $40, and a no rev limit CDI for $40-$80. you could get a crankcase breather for around $17 which would increase lower end acceleration but I’ve had problems with finding them and getting one that doesn’t leak oil..If your looking for more serious upgrades I would go with a Prodigy variator which you can get at Scootertronics.com for around $80 this will increase your accelration by quite a bit and will increase your speed by around 3-5 on your top end, also if your going to get one of those get the Dr. Pulley slider weights for around $40, 6.0 gram worked best for me with a 50cc. You could get a larger carb which will increase power by around 5-10mph but will cut your gas milage by 25%-50% which could run anywhere from $70- 300 depending on what you need to make it fit. You can get two different engine size upgrades the 72cc (42-45mm) usually runs fo $100-170 or the 82cc(50mm) which you can usually get for $250-$350, these will really get your scoot going but they require knowledge of small engines to install. You could find a Performance clutch running anywhere from $70-$250 depending on the quality your looking for and could increase your power anywhere from 5-15 mph.
